The Aesthera machine uses an innovative combination of intense pulsed light (IPL) and very mild pneumatic force. The extremely mild vacuum pressure thins the skin just enough to increase the ability of the light to reach the pigment in the hair shaft and bulb. Less light energy (fluence) can then be used when compared to traditional laser or IPL devices, thereby eliminating the discomfort.
